Hiperflo Moto 4T versus Premium Roadside Pump Fuel
At the recent NG Road Racing pre season test event at Pembrey in South Wales, Daniel Jackson the reigning club 400cc open champion was asked to evaluate Carless Fuels Hiperpro Moto4T.
The experienced Jackson was using the new 450cc GP45 machine that has prepared and supplied by Gofasterbits.co.uk’s Martin Thrower. The GP45 single is a relatively new class to the UK although very popular on the European mainland. NG Road Racing has purchased it’s own machine to help to promote the series during 2011 and Vital Equipment have agreed to supply the machine with Carless Moto 4T fuel for the season.
The two-day pre season test event was perfect for some back to back testing of Premium roadside pump fuel against the Moto 4T.
Dan Jackson used the Premium Unleaded on the Saturday morning and was impressed with the GP45 machine, which is well suited to the 1.456 mile Pembrey circuit where carrying high corner speed on partial throttle is vital. For the afternoon session though the tank was drained and replaced with the Carless Hiperflo Moto 4T. Jackson and Thrower noticed that even whilst still stationary in the pit lane prior to going out on track the bike picked up on the throttle much quicker, crisper and cleaner. After just a handful of laps Jackson noticed from the onboard instruments that despite being able to rev the bike harder and higher in the rev range due to the Moto 4T, the engine ran cooler. So not only giving more power but also providing that power whilst being kinder on the engine internals. Jackson said that the Moto4T “…. also eliminated any backfiring on closed throttle”….. again helping with the performance.
He added, “The bike also responded quicker out of the two hairpin bends at Pembrey, as well as driving better on partial throttle”.
From a riders points of view the advantages of the Moto 4T were easy to feel on track, by not only giving the rider an easier time of things but also at the same time resulting in better and more consistent lap times. In fact the greatest testament came from Jackson as he said that “…. It felt like a different bike”.
The team is hoping to very soon back up these findings on the Dyno to exactly measure the power gains.
Carless Fuels Performance Fuels Manager Graham Eden and Vital Equipment’s Alistair Roberts were both on hand at Pembrey to oversee the tests, and came away very happy indeed.
Motor Cycle journalist Alistair Fagan is due to ride the NG Road Racing GP45 at the upcoming March 19th/20th Brands Hatch meeting, after which he will report on the machine in Motor Cycle Racer Magazine.
