Welcome to NG Roadracing 2019
Over the last few years our club has grown from its
original roots on Airfield circuits to become second to none in this country with
our range of circuits, venues and entries. This is complimented by our vastly
experienced Marshalling & Technical team.
Whether you follow us to most/all venues or contribute
invaluable local knowledge when we visit your favourite circuit, we are proud
to have you as part of our Òshow - Without your assistance there would be no
racing!!!
LATEST NEWS The observant among you will have noticed our calendar
has changed a little this year.
These changes include
We have dropped our usual
pre season testing weekend at Pembrey in early March.
We are now running
two extra Friday tests prior to our events. These are at Brands Hatch and
Pembrey. So we now have five events with Friday tests.
Once
again we are the only club to visit Eight different Venues
BRANDS
HATCH. Our season kicks off with a visit to the
famous Kent circuit. Our NG championship contenders will be keen to start
their 2019 campaigns with a decent haul of points and If the last few years are
anything to go by, they will have to do so amongst grids occupied by many
British Championship names getting some early track experience prior to the
BSB season
CADWELL
PARK With its unique features this spectacular
circuit has become a firm favourite with the NG faithful.
PEMBREY This venue always provides great racing, and continues to
feature strongly in our 2019 calendar. Look out for some special feature races.
As usual on Saturday evening we will provide you with an evening meal and a
free drink at this venue.
CASTLE
COMBE This has been by far the biggest ÒClub event in the
country. In 2018 the crowds and races were second only to the British Superbike
series. In 2019 it is sure to be one of the highlights of our season, The only
modern two wheel racing event at Combe! Definitely not
one to be missed!
OULTON
PARK One of the hardest circuits to learn, Oulton is
vastly popular among our racers, who annually have to Òmix it with the local
Oulton specialists always a great day.
SNETTERTON
200 After the success of our return
to this circuit in 2018, (Biblical flood excepted!) We are once again making a
pilgrimage to this popular east England of circuit
ANGLESEY, Is arguably one of the best rider circuits in the
country, and set right on the North West coast of Wales, it is certainly the
most picturesque! Come and join us for this event at BritainÕs own Philip
Island. Great excuse for a long summer weekend off work!
OTHER NEWS
In 2019 we continue to offer our racing members all of
their favourite classes.
In addition to all of our NG Championship classes, we
will continue to host the Desmo Due Ducati, Formula
Pro-Stock, Suzuki Bandit Championships.
Also look out for rounds of other Championships
cropping up as Guest classes at various of our events throughout the season, Including
confirmed rounds of the -
ACU / FSRA F2 British Sidecar Championship
FSRA Post Classic Sidecar Championship
Lansdown Classic Championship
ACU British 50cc Championship
Once again we are proud to exclusively host the ACU
250gp and 125gp National Championships. We will also host the 2 Stroke GP Championships
at all of our rounds
YOUR
SUPPORT.
We
are proud to continue to offer our racing members the best club championship
series when it comes to the variety of top circuits, close racing and club
friendly classes.
We need you to be a part of this, helping us to ensure we continue to offer all
of our competitors the safest conditions and the slickest of organisations in
which to compete.

VOLUNTEERING
I
understand that not everyone is available for every meeting, or in a position
to travel to all venues, but no matter how many, or how few events you are able
to volunteer for, you will always be made most welcome by the NG family.
MARSHAL TRAINING 16th March 2019
We
are holding Marshal Training this year on the Saturday of our 2 day meeting at
Brands Hatch. This is open to all experienced Marshals who have not attended a
training day for 3 years or more, and to all those new to Marshalling
TEST DAYS The Friday Test Day at Oulton, Cadwell
and Anglesey were so well received in 2018 we have added
Brands Hatch and Pembrey to the list for 2019 I would like to thank in advance
anyone who is able to assist. On test days we will again be providing a breakfast,
a cooked lunch or an evening meal, a snack pack and a pint.
NEW MARSHALS ALWAYS NEEDED
As
NG Roadracing grows the need for more Marshals increases.
Many of us started our Marshalling careers by being introduced by a friend
already marshalling. So I ask you to look around and think if there are any
folk you could introduce to the sport.
They will be sure to thank you for it, once they too discover that marshalling
is what weekends were invented for.
Finally
Please complete your 2019 Availability Form and return
to me ASAP
Ensure your details are written clearly, especially your post code & email
address where available
As usual, your passes will then be sent to you a week or so prior to the date
of each event you have volunteered for. Please keep this letter safe as it
contains all of our dates. Contact me during the season with any changes
to your availability. I look forward to seeing you track side soon
How Do I Become A Road Race Marshal?
IF
YOU'VE EVER BEEN TO A ROAD RACE MEETING OR SEEN ONE ON TV YOU WILL HAVE SEEN
THE MARSHALS, EITHER REMOVING FALLEN BIKES AND RIDERS OR GIVING FLAG SIGNALS TO
THOSE WHO ARE RACING.
WHO ARE THEY?
All Marshals have one thing in common, their interest in motorcycle
racing, and they all want to be more involved than just a spectator
Apart from this shared interest they can and do come from all walks of life,
all ages over 18, and of course both sexes. (16 and over if accompanied)
HOW MUCH TIME DO THEY GIVE? - A Marshal is required to be on duty for the whole
of practice and racing. They also attend a training day every three years.
ADVANTAGES OF BEING A MARSHAL
Working with like-minded people. Shared interest.
Close involvement with the action.
Free admission to meetings.
Satisfaction of doing a job critical to making racing safer.
Marshals are vital. Race meetings cannot take place without them
.
HOW DO I BECOME A MARSHAL, AND WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME? - Organisers of
race meetings are always happy to welcome and train new Marshals, most people
start Marshalling with organisations such as ours that are local to where they
live, and if they wish, may go on to also Marshal at top British National and
International events. It is completely up to the individual as to how many
meetings a year they attend. The only commitment required is that they turn up
to those meetings for which they have volunteered.
Where ever you live, if you are interested in finding out more contact me
(Nino) via email
or telephone on 07803 933130.
